Valular Heart Disease

Valvular heart disease occurs when the valves in the heart do not work the way they should. The heart valves are located at the exit of each of the four heart chambers and maintain a one-way blood flow through the heart. The four heart valves have a unique pattern through which the blood always flows freely in a forward direction and there is no backward leakage. Any irregularities in the valves are referred to as valvular heart disease. The important types of valvular heart disease are rheumatic heart disease, calcified heart disease, and myxomatous heart disease.
